Management Update
Celebrating Leadership at Clifton Springs Primary School
As many of you know, Alex Werner commenced an exciting Acting Principal position at Rollins Primary School at the beginning of this term. While we will certainly miss Alex's leadership at Clifton Springs Primary School, we are incredibly proud of this well-deserved opportunity and wish him every success in his new role.
Alex's appointment is a wonderful reflection of the culture we have built at CSPS. We are passionate about developing and nurturing great educators and future leaders, and our school has developed a strong reputation as a place where staff are supported to grow, learn and take the next step in their careers. Seeing members of our team move into leadership positions is something we celebrate, knowing that their success is also a reflection of the opportunities and professional learning available within our school.
To ensure continuity for our students, staff and families, I am delighted to share that Nick Westerman has stepped into the role of Acting Assistant Principal for the remainder of the year. Nick is already well known to our community and brings a wealth of knowledge, commitment and care to the position. He will continue leading the Disability Inclusion Profile applications that are currently underway, ensuring consistency and ongoing support for our students and families throughout this transition.
We are now in the process of recruiting a Disability Inclusion Leader to support this important area of our work. We look forward to introducing the successful applicant to our community once the appointment process has been finalised.
Please join me in congratulating both Alex and Nick on their exciting leadership opportunities. We are fortunate to have such talented educators at CSPS, and I know they will both make a significant difference in their respective roles.
Teaching and Learning Update
100 Days of school
Congratulations to the Prep students who celebrated 100 days of school on Friday 31st July
DIP into DIP 10th August session 1 – 2.30 pm
Next Monday we will have our first DIP into DIP with our 2027 Preps.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Thankyou to all those that participated in the parent teacher interviews. We had the majority of the CSPS families participate.
Wellbeing and Engagement Update
Respectful Behaviours in the School Community
When parents, carers and school staff work together as one team, our students do better. Everyone at school, particularly staff and parents/carers, play a role in making school a better place for learning and work.
Parents, carers and school staff have a relationship that can last many years. This is an opportunity to work together to create a positive relationship in the best interests of your child. When this relationship is built on respect and trust, students learn better and feel like they belong in the school.
Every member of our school community has a right to feel safe and be protected.
The department’s Respectful Behaviours within the School Community Policy describes the positive behaviour expected from parents, carers, and other adults in Victorian school communities. The policy sets clear standards of behaviour to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for students, staff and adults.
There are also resources to support safe and respectful relationships in our school community, including information about getting involved in the school, advice on how to raise a concern or complaint, and parenting support resources. You can find the policy and these resources here.
I am pleased to say in general our parent community are enormously respectful, and I thank you for maintaining that positive working relationship with the school staff.
