Curriculum Update
Celebrating all the abilities in the school
We celebrate students and a range of abilities, so that all CSPS students SHINE, regularly whether it is through:-
- Events – Biannual Concert celebration of Arts both performance and Visual or the Science Expo every other year
- Awards - specialist awards, class awards, Values awards, attendance, Year 6.
- Acknowledgement of special achievements via newsletter, assembly, awards wall or personal letters
- Reports – A mid and end of year reports. We will have student comments reinstated in the end of year report as the Work Ban is hopefully ended.
- Learning Expo – term 4
- Rewards – Teachers regularly acknowledge students and whole classes for their great efforts.
- Competitions and Challenges – Athletics, Cross country, Readers Challenge, Recycled Art competition, Random Acts of Kindness, Colour Fun Run
- Student Learning Expo is where students will have the opportunity to share and explore their learning with their parents and carers. Each student will choose work samples that s/he is proud of and show how s/he has achieved his/her goals and work samples that show how s/he is working towards his/her new goals. All parents/carers are encouraged to attend and participate in their child’s learning. Children will also take their parents on a tour of the school including their classroom and specialist spaces. It will be an opportunity for parents to see the new school.
Student achievement
On the weekend Charlie N, Callum H and Euan H competed at the Victorian Championships of the National Sports Karate Association at the weekend. They all had a fantastic tournament, coming away with an impressive medal haul:
Charlie- 7 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze
Callum- 2 golds and 3 silver
Euan- 2 gold and 1 bronze
Apart from the medals, Charlie and Euan's highlight of the day was achieving a PB in foot board breaking, smashing through 11 and 7 boards! Callum was particularly happy about beating his close rival in both the flag karate and sword combat.
All the boys have qualified for the National Championships in Sydney in November, where they could earn a spot in Team Australia!

New Junior Playground is here!
The new playground has been successfully installed. Students are loving the new playground.
🐍 Snake Safety Reminder
Just a reminder to parents and members of our community that, as the weather gets warmer, snakes may be seen sunning themselves on the paths alongside the creek.
Please take care when walking along the creek over the warmer months. Keep an eye on the path, stay on the designated walking areas and give any snakes plenty of space.

For over 17 years, Barry has been a familiar and friendly face at our school crossing, helping our children and families get safely across the road each day.
Barry, your friendly smile, cheerful conversations and genuine care for everyone in our school community have meant so much over the years. You’ve become much more than a crossing supervisor — you’re a much-loved part of our school community.
Thank you for all the mornings, afternoons, waves, smiles and conversations. We truly appreciate the dedication and care you have shown for more than 17 years.
