Student Representative Council (SRC)
The Student Representative Council (SRC) underpins a lot of what happens at CSPS. It has grown in recent years to become a pivotal factor in the success of CSPS.
2018 VicSRC of the Year Winners!!!
Wow…what an amazing achievement by an impressive group of students who represent all 400+ students at CSPS! Our Student Representative Council (SRC) comprises of 22 students from years 3-6. Together, they have worked hard to improve their school and have been acknowledged by being the 2018 Victorian winners of SRC of the Year. 11 of these students accompanied Ms Parker, Mr McCredden and Peter Hobbs to the Docklands on Thursday 18th October, 2018 to the awards dinner. The students dressed up for the evening and relished the opportunity to mix with students from across Victoria. Minister James Merlino opened the event and was on hand to award our students with their 1st place trophy, certificate and cheque. Blake made an inspiring acceptance speech and our entry video was showed to all in the room. It really was a very special experience and one that these students will not forget. Of course, dinner at the Docklands, the train trip in and back, and Peter’s song list on the bus were also highlights of the evening! The $1,800 winners cheque will be handed to the students to brainstorm the best way to spend it so that students across the school can benefit. The SRC represent CSPS with great pride and we are extremely proud of the way they are so committed to improving their school. The award recognised our SRC’s work in increasing Student Voice in learning. In 2018 students have had a much stronger voice in the direction of their learning, as well as giving teachers feedback to improve their practice. The SRC ran a staff meeting earlier this year where they worked closely with teachers. It was an extremely powerful meeting and has led to fantastic changes. Well done to our SRC. An amazing achievement and thoroughly deserved!!! |
