CSPS Academies
ACADEMIES
We have a strong emphasis on extending the learning of our high achievers, which includes our specialist areas. We are extremely fortunate to have such skilled and experienced staff in these areas and as such are able to provide the following academies, which students apply or audition for.
2023 CSPS Music Academy
The CSPS Music Academy is an extension program aimed at select year 5/6 students who have a passion and skill in Music. It is run by our Music teacher, Kate Kelly, and consists of being part of an ensemble who will perform regularly at assemblies, as well as other opportunities that arise. The program strongly also focuses on leadership and being a positive role model for the performing arts in the CSPS community.
2023 CSPS Sports Academy
The CSPS Sports Academy is an extension program aimed at year 5/6 students who have a passion and skill in Physical Education. It is run by our Phys Ed teacher Amanda Edwards, and consists of direct coaching in a variety of sports, learning about nutrition and preparing meals, improving personal fitness and leadership in physical activity throughout the school by leading our P-2 sport program. The program strongly focuses on leadership and being a positive role model for physical activity, sport and health in the CSPS community.

The CSPS Visual Arts Academy is an extension program aimed at select year 5/6 students who have a passion and skill in the Visual Arts. It is run by our Visual Arts teacher Jill Petersen, and consists of being exposed to new and challenging forms of art, as well as having the responsibility of art displays around the school. The program strongly also focuses on leadership and being a positive role model for the Visual Arts in the CSPS community.

The CSPS STEM Academy is an extension program aimed at select year 5/6 students who have a passion and skill in STEM. It is run by our STEM teacher Luke Smith and consists of being exposed to new and challenging forms of STEM, as well as leading the way in this subject area around the school. The program strongly also focuses on leadership and being a positive role model for STEM in the CSPS community.
