Excitement was in the air as our Year 3 - 6 students headed off to Landy Field on 17/5/16 to participate in our annual Clifton Springs Inter House Athletics Carnival. The weather was kind to us and a wonderful day was had by athletes, spectators and volunteers alike. The day began with an 800m race which was an optional event for all students. It was fabulous to see so many young athletes rise to this challenge and compete to earn points for their team. During the day students participated in long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, high jump, hurdles, 200m and 100m sprints. It was rewarding to see so many students give their all in these events with new school records achieved in the following events:

The Relay Events are always a highlight and this year they were followed by a 100m handicap dash where teachers, dressed in a wide variety of frivolous garments raced our School Leaders down the straight. Mr Hanson has claimed first place dressed in his clown pants, jacket and scarf - he will be the one to look out for next year!
The final count saw 4th place go to Dell, 3rd Springs, 2nd Bayshore and Coriyule were awarded the trophy for finishing in first place.
The students are to be commended on their excellent display of sportsmanship throughout the day and for the enthusiastic manner in which they cheered on their team mates and peers. A huge thank you too to our wonderful parents and family members who, together with our friends from Deakin and Bellarine Secondary College, raked, measured, timed, scored, recorded and marshalled. Without your support, this day could not happen.
