As I write this I've just spent a big day with the school's leadership team discussing the many exciting things happening at CSPS this year. We are so thrilled with the direction our school is heading and look forward to 2016 being another big step towards being the best possible school we can be. The leadership team have set some challenging goals to improve student learning and for the school in general, but we are energised by these challenges and are committed to making them happen.
Over the summer, Brent and I were contacted by Emma Thomson who was to be a new classroom teacher at CSPS in 2016. Unfortunately for family reasons, Emma is now unable to fill this position and we wish her all the best. We are thrilled to announce that Tiaan Duim has been successful in her application for this position. Tiaan will be a Year 5/6 teacher alongside Mrs Garland and Mr Hanson. Many of the students will know Ms Duim from the work she did at the school in various capacities in 2015.
We are also excited to announce that Jill Petersen will fill the Visual Arts position and Steve Jones the Performing Arts position. Both Steve and Jill come with a huge range of experience and a wealth of knowledge and will be tremendous assets to CSPS. With the feedback from students and parents to strengthen the Visual & Performing Arts program, we have now ensured all students receive a full year of both. With Steve and Jill coming on board the puzzle pieces have now all been put together!
Thursday is an exciting day. I look forward to seeing you all then!
